DATA & METHODOLOGY

How EveDashboard produces its results.

Different tools use different data sources and calculation layers. This page documents the major ones and the limitations that matter when interpreting a result.

Market Search and Price Checker

Market Search and Price Checker use EveDashboard server endpoints that obtain EVE market intelligence from the site’s market-service backend. Market Search keeps short-lived local cache files to reduce duplicate upstream calls; cached responses can be marked as cached or stale by the API. Displayed values therefore represent a recent market snapshot, not a continuously streaming order book.

What the market numbers mean

Top Buy and Top Sell come from visible order-book sides. Split is a midpoint reference when both sides are present. Immediate Buy and Immediate Sell are quantity-aware calculations intended to reflect walking through available orders for the requested quantity. Market-health notices are diagnostic signals, not forecasts.

Reprocessing

The reprocessing tool resolves the pasted source inventory, applies recipe portions and the selected net yield, preserves leftovers, prices recovered outputs and compares the raw and recovered scenarios using the same selected market basis. The exact in-game yield should be used when available.

Ship fitting

FitBuilder uses CCP static data and a local EVEShipFit Dogma validation/calculation engine. Output depends on the selected skill profile, module and charge state, drones/fighters and the Dogma effects represented in the engine data. A valid simulated fit does not guarantee success in a specific combat environment.

Public intelligence

Character identity and employment information is based on public EVE data. Killboard views use public zKillboard data. These are contextual records and may be delayed or incomplete.

Freshness and corrections

Where a tool has a freshness indicator, use it. For expensive trades or important fits, verify in the EVE client. If you find a reproducible discrepancy, use the contact page and include the inputs that produced it.
